Papers of Ross Stretton [manuscript]. 1962-2002.

Ross Stretton joined the Australian Ballet in 1971 and for nearly 20 years was a principal dancer with the Australian Ballet, Northern Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre. On his retirement as a dancer in 1990 he worked with the ABT as assistant, regisseur and assistant director, with the Australian Ballet as Artistic Director (1997-2000) and as Artistic Director of the Royal Ballet from 2001-2002. His papers comprise correspondence, photographs, articles, programs, video tapes and other papers documenting Stretton's career both as dancer and dance administrator in Australia, the United States and England between 1974 and 2002. There are also photographs and articles relating to his early years as a competitive tap dancer and his early ballet training and awards.
